Experience a serene world that combines music and visuals into one beautiful harmony.
Spiral into audio-reactive obscurity as you are transported to a mysterious and melancholy land. Kyoto is an interactive ambient musical experiment that serves as an homage to the wonderful city of Kyoto, the city that creator Eddie Lee resided in when he made it.

I came to Kyoto during springtime, and I was able to witness the wonderfully vibrant spring colors of the flowers, the beautifully ornate patterns on the kimonos, the taste of the local kyoto cuisine, temples, shrines, local music… it all was a bit overwhelming to me. And truly in my heart, I felt this tremendous sense of magic and I wanted to pay homage to this city and this experience in the only way I know how -- which is to make a game out of it.
I wanted the game to feel very musical and alive. Music definitely plays a huge part in this game, and I feel that music quite often takes a backseat in games. But I do feel that for games, it is not about pure game mechanics, or gameplay, it is the entire sensory experience, and music needs to be there to work syergistically to enhance the emotion.
So as you can see, Kyoto is an indie game that is very personal to me, and was very happy to see that so many people have enjoyed it.
